Summary:
With the legalization of sports betting in Maryland and increased access through mobile platforms, college students are at greater risk of problem gambling. This training is specifically designed for Maryland colleges and universities, targeting faculty and staff in administration, counseling centers, health centers, and other departments to encourage the implementation of problem gambling prevention strategies for students on campus. To continue the discussion from the October 23 in-person training, this training will provide updates on prevention, screening, and strategy ideas for Problem Gambling Awareness Month (PGAM).
Learning Objectives:
- Learn of updates on underage and problem gambling prevention in Maryland.
- Discuss problem gambling screening tools and how to implement them on campus.
- Discuss college and university problem gambling prevention strategies and how they can be used during Problem Gambling Awareness Month (PGAM).
