She provides peer support in hopes no other family will have to endure the pain her family has. Her accomplishments to date prove her dedication to help others through her personal lived experience. In 2016, Carin co-founded a statewide non-profit and as director continues to support those seeking substance use treatment, services, and resources. In addition, Carin founded and facilitates Save Our Children Peer Support Group, one of the longest running weekly peer support groups in Maryland.

Her creativity in fundraising efforts have given many people help and hope by providing funding for food, clothing, short-term housing, and transportation. Her passion to help others who suffer is her chosen lifelong journey. As a peer, she always makes herself available to help those in need. Supporting those with gambling addiction has become a passion and she strides to help those seeking support.
